You can't do it alone...

Time and time again I hear the same comment from people:
“You are amazing, how do you do everything that you do?”

Simple, I don’t…. now let me explain:
I have an amazing God who is my best friend and helps me through it all. I have an amazing and supportive family who are always there for me. I have a wonderful work family and friends who help me as best they can.
You NEED others to accomplish a lot!
Stay humble in what you are doing, give credit where credit is due.
I am a mom; with an amazing husband who works WITH me to raise our kids, cleans the house when it gets bad, and cooks a meal or two during the week even though he works his tail off on the ranch. Our kids all do their part in chores, cleaning, and responsibilities of schoolwork. When I am working on something they are so respectful and understanding. They treasure our times out because they know those moments are rare and special. I want them to know what it is to appreciate the simple things in life and to treasure the bigger things or moments in life.
I am a rancher; when a mama loses a calf, I need to find her a new one. When a goat needs to be doctored, I need to get it done to the best of my ability. When critters need to get fed, I need to step up and get them fed even if it is -30 or 3 a.m. My husband takes the lead in most of this thankfully! I would also say God helps the most in this role. He is steadfast and true and keeps a person humble in their knowledge and abilities. We have friends who step up and help us work animals or family members who do chores when we cannot.
I am a business owner; of Diamond Savanna Ranch and Goat Production Management- marketing, callbacks, meetings, and a website alone can be a fulltime job, but most people show grace toward a busy life and understand when I don’t respond right away. I have a wonderful business partner with the software company who takes the lead when need be and keeps me informed. He understands my busy life and that ours are at different chapters, but we have the same goal.
I am a wife; to the most amazing man (I think I have said this a few times but just can’t seem to say it enough.) who helps me balance life and our kids. He dreams with me, and I help make his dreams come true as well. We are partners in our life with the same vision and goals for our kids and our ranch.
I am a Believer; I may not make it to church every Sunday, but God knows what kept me away. He knows my heart and I have a relationship with Him, and I know that is what matters most. He has helped me through everything in life. When times were tough and I didn’t see us making ends meet, He made them meet and I felt His presence in that. He always has a plan.
I am a paraprofessional; I work fulltime as a paraprofessional. I teach students skills they need in life and about life. I wear all sorts of hats at school, and I love every minute of it! (almost) 😉 I love watching students when they get those “ah ha!” moments. My coworkers are the best team of people who support each other and our students.
I am a student; In July of 2024 I was accepted into the SD TAP program to become a certified K-8 teacher. So, I am taking an average of 17 credits per semester. I am seeing teaching through a whole new lens and am excited to make teaching (K-8) my new adventure. I love to learn and see the value in education even when I don’t agree with some of the strategies or curriculum taught, there is VALUE in that too! Being a lifelong learner is all about having a growth mindset and seeing the potential in what you are learning. My coworkers help me bounce ideas and share the passion of teaching!
Through reading all of what I am and what I do I hope you can see I have support!
There is one more thing I think is worth pointing out….
How bad do YOU want it?
Nothing in my life has been free or easy.
Dalton and I have worked our tails off to get where we are, and we continue to dream big! But we WANT it. We feel God guiding us and we pray to Him to point us in the right direction and then we WORK for it.
NOTHING worthwhile is easy…
Marriage is hard work! But worth it…
Raising children to be respectful and humble is hard work, but worth it….
Ranching is hard work, but worth it….
Gardening….
Training horses….
Teaching….
Friendships….
The list goes on and on but is WORTH it!
